Arse Elektronika, Cell Space, SF, September 2008

My lollipop licker, Eating My Cake and Having it Too, and I were both present at this year's Arse Elektronika conference examining sex and technology over three days at San Francisco's Cell Space. Here's a write-up of my machine and the conference at Wired.com. The conference is organized by Monochrom and was presided over by the ever-exuberant Johannes Grenzfurthner, pictured above. My favorite talk concerned the eroticism of prosthetics by Karin Harrasser (hear the talk here). It was also a delight to participate in a panel discussion on the erotic of the machine with Violet Blue, Daniel Fabry, and others.

Maker Faire, Bay Area, May 2008

Maker Faire was a blast, as one would expect. Over 40,000 visitors came through the San Mateo Fairgrounds to see all the incredible work and creativity being presented there. My booth was central in the Expo Hall, where I debued my Kissing Machine and demonstrated gear-making and mechanical design. It was wonderful to see so many children play with my machines, even though at times I almost fainted watching them be so rough.
